Good News

Tue May 19, 2009, 6:11 AM
Hi! Whoa, it's been over half a year since I wrote a journal...I haven't really had anything to say, I guess. I just kind of want to get that Hancock rant off my page.

Um, if you'll notice, I've added a deviantID. It is a picture I actually don't mind of myself (I am just about the opposite of photogenic). Just to let you know.

My main news is that I got into my high school literary magazine. I got a lot of stuff in, actually. Four pieces of art and one poem. The Cracked piece, Infinity, Couple, and that one with the little girl peeking out from behind the door, which actually looks pretty blurry and yucky printed, but whatever. I'm kind of proud of myself; I submitted about twenty pieces and only expected about two to get in. Yes, I was the art editor, but trust me, I did not touch my own art. I let other people in the art group and the main editors pair them up.

So, yeah. The cover's really pretty too - it's of a rainbow stained glass (looking) hummingbird feeder (it actually took me a couple of months to figure it out) and the theme is through the looking glass. It's really pretty and, you know, literary-looking. So much better than the last couple of years' editions, at least the way it looked. The art in last year's upset me so much that it's what motivated me to be editor, just to make sure this year's edition wasn't so full of garbage.

So, yeah. If you go to Roosevelt, buy one! It's worth it. If you don't, then just be happy for me. And :iconluukie:, who also got in. Her picture is right beside one of mine. As well as :iconcoblookogu: and :iconneolin91:, who both got a lot of art and poetry in there.

Also, I have a scholarship interview (hopefully) at the beginning of June. I've really been trying to build up my portfolio. I've been looking up other Maryland art scholarships as well and have found a few, but if anyone knows of any others worth looking into, don't hesitate to inform me. I need all the help I can get when it comes to college.

deviantID

Um...art. That sums it up.

Okay, so it's cool with my people over here, so I was thinking the 26th (Sunday, showtime is at 2pm.) What time do you normally get out of church on Sundays? And you might just have to watch it while sitting next to Mom, but I'm sure you'll somehow manage. ;D

If not, I'm pretty sure there's a show on the 29th (Wednesday, showtime 1pm.)

And if neither of those work, we can do it on either the 25th of July or the 1st of August, (Both Saturdays, showtimes at 2pm and 8pm, though you'd probably go to the 8pm one), but you'd either have to go see the next day's performance or get picked up by 1pm on the following Sunday.

Do any of those options work? Because if not, this might have to be an actual kidnapping. e_____e

FALSE ALARM. I'M NOT EVEN SURE IF I'LL BE ABLE TO HAVE ANYONE OVER THIS SUMMER. ;____;

The laundry room's been uprooted because the dryer broke. And I mean uprooted; there're structures and large boxes scattered near the back door that I wasn't even aware were in there.

ARE YOU DOING ANYTHING FOR THE 4TH OF JULY?

BECAUSE I GOT THIS IDEA INVOLVING YOU, ME, THE LIGHT RAIL, AND BALTIMORE, FOLLOWED BY MY PLACE. :eyes:

Provided both our parentals would be okay with it. I'm not even sure if I'm doing anything for the 4th of July; I'd probably better go make sure this idea will fly with my people.

(So, the real question is, are you doing anything this Friday and Saturday?)

Well, considering your other comment, I guess this plan is off. And I'm at my grandparents' for the weekend anyway.
Yeeeah. :(

It has become my summer goal to have you over before school starts, though, since it seems to be so hard. e____e

Okay. Except I'll be in Pittsburgh the fifteenth through about the eighteenth/nineteenth, and whatever week camp is, usually mid-August.

What about the 25th/26th/one of its adjacent days? I'm playing in the orchestra for PGSTT (Prince George's Summer Teen Theatre) and we're putting on Thoroughly Modern Millie, so I was thinking we could get you a ticket and kidnap you and then you could see the show and then come home with us.
